CaPP3 Spain opened to recruitment on 18th May 2018 at the Navarra Hospital in Pamplona, Northern Spain.  This town is most famous for the bull running festival, San Fermin.  Spain have recruited 43 study participants (08.02.19).

The CaPP3 Spain study is led by Dr Ángel Alonso in Spain; Dr Alonso previously was involved with the CaPP3 study in Newcastle where he worked as a Consultant Clinical Geneticist. In Pamplona Dr Alonso is working with Dr Guerra, Consultant Gastroenterologist.

Dr Gill Borthwick had the opportunity to visit the Navarrabiomed Biomedical research centre, located on the campus of the Navarra Hospital. This research centre enables close interaction between researchers and clinicians.  Dr Borthwick presented the CaPP3 study in a seminar to the personnel of the research centre.  CaPP3 Spain has been covered in the news, navarra.es on 2nd July 2018 and iSanidad on 26th July 2018.

All the parallel data sharing international studies are now open and recruiting- CaPP3 Australia, CaPP3 Finland, CaPP3 Israel and now CaPP3 Spain.

    Nick James was the first to be recruited to CaPP3 in October 2014 and attended clinic on Friday 1st November 2019 for his last visit.

    Stand up to Cancer Event

    Stand up to Cancer held an event for fundraisers at the Centre for Life on Saturday 2nd November 2019.  Some of our CaPP3 participants were involved in the Q&A session 'Taking part in research' chaired by Professor Sir John Burn.
